The Museum is OPEN Tuesday through Sunday beginning September 20.

Tue - Sat: 10am to 5pm

Sun: 12 (Noon) - 5pm

Last admission sold at 4pm.

 

CLOSED Mondays until Victoria Day (May) beginning Labour Day, September 5.

 

The Museum is also CLOSED for Annual Maintenance Monday September 5 through Monday September 19.

How to get to the Museum
The Waterloo Regional Children's Museum is in downtown Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The Museum is north of Highway 401 on King Street.

The Museum is located approximately 1 hour from Toronto's Pearson International Airport; 1 1/2 hours from downtown Toronto; 2 hours from the Peace Bridge at Fort Erie/Buffalo; and 3 hours from the Ambassador Bridge at Windsor/Detroit.

If you are travelling to the Museum by Grand River Transit, follow Route 7 on King Street, with nearest stop near the intersection of King and Queen Streets. (Telerider 888-1291) To find the most convenient bus route visit the GRT website

Parking:
Parking is available in the Duke and Ontario Street Parking Garage located behind the Museum on Duke Street. Direct access to the Museum is available from the 2nd Floor of this Parking Garage. First 3 hours of parking only $2. Alternate parking locations are also available at other nearby locations. Please refer to the map.

PLEASE NOTE: The Duke & Ontario Street Parking Garage will be undergoing some improvements during the summer & fall months. Access at times will be restricted. Alternative parking locations, within walking distance to the Museum, are available. Please call in advance for details. Sorry for the inconvenience. 

 

Driving Directions from Toronto:
(Estimated Driving Time: 1 hour, 15 minutes; Approximate Distance: 107 km)

  • Take Highway 401 West towards London
  • Exit at Highway 8 West (exit number 278) towards Kitchener-Waterloo
  • Continue on Highway 8, which becomes King Street, and leads directly into downtown Kitchener
  • The Museum is located on the right side of King Street, near the King & Queen Street intersection

Directions from London:
(Estimated Driving Time: 1 hour, 20 minutes; Approximate Distance: 110 km)
  • Take Highway 401 East towards Toronto
  • Exit at Highway 8 West (exit number 278B) towards Kitchener-Waterloo
  • Continue on Highway 8, which becomes King Street and will lead you directly into downtown Kitchener.
  • The Museum is located on the right side of King Street, near the King & Queen Street intersection


To provide an enjoyable visiting experience for everyone, the Museum, exhibits and Gift Shop are all wheelchair accessible. Elevators, convenient parking and ramps will help you experience the Museum with ease.

Food & Beverage Services:
There are limited food & beverage services available inside the Museum. Cold and hot beverages and snacks are available from vending machines.

Within a 5-minute walk of the Museum are many places, in a variety of price ranges, for lunch, dinner, or a quick snack. Visitors are welcome to leave the Museum for a break during their visit - upon re-entry, just show us the stamp on your hand for re-admittance.
Children are not to be left unaccompanied in the Museum at any time.
